Stand up to injustice and hatred.
Look at that jackass go “I - I don’t like it”, as if it even matters. Sit yo stupid ass down, boy.
tumblr likes to post these kind of things without context, but i figured before everyone starts hating this guy they should know that his name is yousef erakat, a muslim youtuber from palestine, and he is performing a social experiment to see how people would react to someone attacking a woman in a hijab.
the video is here for people who want to watch it
”it’s her choice ” my ass . I’m pretty sure she was forced to wear that thing by her family , religion and stuff
Look at this asshole.
Laugh at this asshole.
I’m a muslim, and at the age of thirteen, my mum and dad asked me if I wanted to wear a hijab. I said I’d think on it, and then later replied with no.
My sister said yes.
Almost every muslim woman (except for the bullshit propaganda your uneducated ignorant ass sees on CNN) is given the choice to wear a hijab.
Why don’t you take your ignorant comments and shove them up your ass, before I bitch slap you so hard you smash into the surface of the fucking sun.
A-holes abound on every street corner.
in England, there are these ignorant group of people called the English defence league (edl) and this one time they marched in my area in London whilst I was out. one of the assholes backed me up against a chicken shop window and started pulling at my hijab, thinking he was ‘liberating’ me, then starting making aggressive rape threats and he began molesting me before I kicked him off and others helped me get him off me and he continued his march. this man was rather young and he was delusional, he kept thinking he was somehow freeing me by tearing my hijab off me and what gets me is this notion that Muslim women are somehow obligated to be modest and are forced. this man genuinely believed he was helping me in some way. yes, modesty and the veil are a compulsory and important part in a Muslim woman’s life but it is for the woman to decide, nothing should EVER be forced upon her for it is most definitely not Islamic to force anything upon anyone. the ignorance and utter lack of knowledge shocked me, that racist and bigoted people in this world deliberately spew false information or prevent correct education of religious or cultural subjects for the pure intention of raising impressionable children in the same racist and bigoted manner, teaching younger generations ignorance and perpetuating stereotypes and offensive accusations, especially to Muslims in the western world, where our beliefs and ways may be foreign to some. the solution to this problem is knowledge, correct knowledge of different cultures and religions so that people may understand and learn acceptance and not assume things based on the blatant prejudice of the media and society.
Wearing the Hijab is your personal choice. No one is forced to do it. Next time, make sure you know what you’re talking about. Everyone deserves respect. Just because you come from a different race or religion, doesn’t mean you lost your human rights.
